Senior Learning Centre

30/08/2018
Please be advised as per previous newsletter communications that the construction of the four new classrooms in the under croft area of the new Senior Learning Centre will commence on Monday 3 September next week. From this time the entrance path to the SLC will be closed off to pedestrian traffic and families will need to access the school site via the main Whistler Drive entrance, School Hall entrance or easement entrance at the rear of the school oval.

Protective hoarding will be set up adjacent to the operating classrooms on the ground level and both end stairwells will be useable and possibly the centre stairwell as well.  Practical completion for this project is set down for 8 November notwithstanding allowances for wet weather etc.  Therefore it is hoped that the classrooms will be finalised by late November. Teaching Block 10 adjacent to the SLC will be removed at the completion of construction.

During this construction period we are requiring that all Year 4, 5 and 6 students are to assemble in the school hall before school each morning.  We also ask that students do not enter the hall until 8:15am until a staff member is present for supervision. Understandably there will be the usual disruption, noise, access and traffic challenges that go along with project work while a school is operating business as usual.  I thank you once again in anticipation of your cooperation in making the best of this situation during this transition period.

Kind regards
Ray
