Established on a 4.9 hectare site in 1987, Caningeraba State School
opened its doors for the very first time in the newly established suburb of
Burleigh Waters, a short distance from Burleigh Heads beach. The new
school was built to accommodate local population growth and alleviate pressure
on the State School at Burleigh Heads. Opening with an enrolment of 130
students, Caningeraba has since grown to approximately 1120 students across
preparatory to year six where the original motto of “Success through Challenge”
is still strongly upheld.
