Caningeraba State School, nestled in the suburb of Burleigh Waters, supports a student enrolment of approximately 1000 students.  Due to the ongoing demand for student enrolments, particularly in the early years, Caningeraba operates under an Enrolment Management Plan. Enrolment management planning is utilised to ensure that students living within the school’s catchment area are able to access their local school.

Enrolment management plan / Catchment zone

Enrolment of students from outside the local catchment area will be managed to ensure that the total current and forecast enrolments do not exceed the school's current built capacity and where applicable will ensure there is an even spread of students across year levels or class groupings.

Check the catchment area map to ensure your residential address is within the  Caningeraba State School catchment area.

If you reside outside the catchment area you may make a written application to the principal outlining the reasons why you would like your child to attend Caningeraba State School.  Your application will be placed on a waiting list and considered in order of receipt.  With the exception of new Prep enrolments at the beginning of a school year, a decision regarding applications will be made within two weeks of receipt dependent upon enrolment numbers at that time.

Parents who wish to enrol their child at Caningeraba State School under the Enrolment Management Plan will need to demonstrate that the child to be enrolled resides within the catchment area. The following documentation will be required:

  • Original Birth Certificate

  • Rates Notice or Rental Agreement stamped and signed by real estate agency for a minimum of six months’ duration, together with any two of the following showing full name and address:

    • Australian citizenship, permanent residence status or eligibility under a visa category

    • Electricity account

    • Signed unconditional house contract

    • Rental bond receipt

    • Registration on a State or Federal Electoral Roll

    • Driver’s licence

  • School reports (last two years) or as requested.

Please note - in some cases a statutory declaration may be requested with additional supporting documentation.

Enrolments

Enrolments will not be approved without enrolment administration staff sighting and copying your child’s original birth certificate.  Our administration staff will sight the original, make a copy and return the original to you immediately.  For international students approved for enrolments by Education Queensland International (EQI), a passport or Visa will be acceptable.

Enrolment Process

Download the relevant enrolment pack or collect a hard copy from school administration.

A separate enrolment form must be completed for each child enrolling.  Once these forms are completed, submit them to the school office together with the following documentation:

  • Each child’s original birth certificate

  • Your proof of residency documents one of which must be a Rates Notice or Rental Agreement as outlined above

  • Each child’s previous two years of school reports (where applicable).

When all documentation has been provided to administration, an enrolment interview will be arranged by the appropriate Associate Principal.  At the enrolment interview, please bring your child so that we may meet them.

Pro Rata fees payable at the time of enrolment will be required to complete the enrolment process.  Your child will then be assigned a class by the Associate Principal who will make arrangements for a successful transition.  On the first morning of your child’s attendance at our school, the Principal or Associate Principal will escort your child to class and make them feel welcome in their new school setting.  Please note that all students must be in correct full school uniform before attending class.  Commencement times for newly enrolled students may therefore vary according to trading hours of the Uniform Book Shop.
