Who We Are
Caningeraba State School P&C (Parents and Citizens) is a vibrant and dedicated community organisation that plays a crucial role in supporting Caningeraba State School. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and involvement, the Caningeraba State School P&C actively engages in various initiatives, events, and fundraisers throughout the year.
These efforts aim to provide additional resources, facilities, and educational opportunities for the school's students, ensuring they have the best possible learning journey.
The P&C meetings serve as a platform for open discussions, where members can voice their ideas, concerns, and suggestions to contribute to the school's ongoing development.
By fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose, the Caningeraba State School P&C strengthens the relationship between the school, families, and the broader community, promoting a strong support network for students' overall growth and well-being.
What We Do
- Finance and operate the school tuckshop and uniform shop.
- Fundraising and community engagement events.
- Pursue grants for school capital improvements.
- Assist in financing improvements to infrastructure and new equipment at the school.
Just One Thing
At Caningeraba, we firmly believe that small actions can make a significant impact, and that's exactly what the "Just One Thing" initiative is all about. We understand that life can be busy, and finding time to volunteer might seem challenging. However, we believe that by taking just one small step, together, we can achieve great things and create an even more vibrant and enriching school community. Any contribution to our P & C is valued no matter how big or small.
Your “Just One Thing" for our school community may include:
- Helping in the tuckshop or uniform room.
- Organising raffle prizes, sponsors, and donations.
- Helping set up fundraising events.
- Helping man the BBQ and serving food.
- Planning and organising events.
- Setting up and selling goods at the Mother's/Father's Day stalls.
- Donating food for fundraising events.
- Attending meetings and/or sub-committees.

P&C MEETINGSThe P&C meetings will take place on the fourth Monday of every month, starting at 6.30 pm (and generally goes for 1 to 2 hours) Anyone is welcome to attend and become a part of the P&C.
P&C meetings are an opportunity for you to voice your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions. Whether you have ideas for new initiatives, concerns to be addressed, or simply want to know more about ongoing projects, this is the place to share.
I only have limited time, how can I help?
Our "Just One Thing" initiative lists various ways of how you can contribute to improving our school. Small contributions can make a big difference.
I would like to help but I don't want to be a member.
You don't have to be a member to attend meetings or participate. However, only members can vote on motions at meetings.
I am new to town and don't know anybody.
P & Cs are one of the best places to meet other parents. We are an open and inclusive environment and no one will be harassed into volunteering .
Can I bring my kids to the meetings?
Absolutely.
I hear meetings are long and boring.
We do our best to keep them short and succinct. They are an excellent way to keep informed about what is happening in our school.
I don't want to turn up and then be stuck doing everything.
There is no pressure on members/attendees to take on duties, it is solely on a volunteer basis.
What are the roles of the P7C executive and what is its purpose?
President, Vice President, Secretary & Treasurer. The executive takes care of all the procedural matters, running meetings, correspondence, paying bills, etc, and setting the overall direction for the P & C.
