Global Citizenship
21st Century Learning – Contribute At Caningeraba, our 21st Century Learning skill – 'Contribute' is defined as, 'We are active and informed citizens who connect and add value on a personal, social and global scale.' Simply put, it is about how we can all, as global citizens, make the world a better place. A global citizen is someone who is aware of and understands the wider world – and their place in it. They are a citizen of the world. They take an active role in their community and work with others to make our planet more peaceful, more sustainable and fairer.
This year we are implementing Global Citizenship as a new subject, designed to inspire and equip all students in years 1-4 to contribute to making the world a better place through the application of our 21st Century Learning skills (Contribute, Challenge, Critique, Create, Communicate and Collaborate), fundamental to our school vision: We are committed to educating happy, healthy, confident 21 st century learners. Students will participate in one lesson each week with our Global Citizenship teacher, Bree Carter (Mrs B).
