Recently, our Year 4 students welcomed a very special guest as part of their Global Citizenship learning. Caningeraba parent Lauren Soderberg, an Olympic level coach with an extensive background in high performance sport and development, offered to share her expertise with our students.

Lauren is the founder of the not-for-profit organisation Progressive Coaches, which uses play-based sport-for-development to help empower young people to become inclusive, compassionate global citizens. Lauren designed and co-facilitated a special Global Citizenship lesson with Mrs B. that aligned with our compelling question, 'What if the world were a village?'

The students took part in an engaging, interactive age-appropriate game called 'The Spoonball Championships'. They were encouraged to think critically about fairness, inclusion and equity. They then reflected together and discussed how we can all help to create fairer communities.

This was a valuable learning experience, and we sincerely thank Lauren for sharing her expertise with our students.
